Admission to Pownall Hall School at the age of two into Nursery is achieved on a first come, first served basis. Where waiting lists may be formed, the offer of a firm place is at the discretion of the school. Children may enter at any age, depending upon the availability of places. The older the incoming child, the more formal the entrance assessment will be.

Admissions Overview

If parents wish their child to be considered for a place at the school, they
should complete a registration form and pay a registration fee. This form states
our terms and conditions and must be signed by both parents.

Children wishing to enter Nursery and Kindergarten will be assessed using the
Early Years checklist of  basic skills. Children who then join the school in the
Nursery or Key Stage 1 will automatically gain entry to the Senior
School, provided that a place is available, a deposit has been received and they
are able to complete the Early Years checklist satisfactorily.

New pupils at Key Stage 2 will be required to join the school for a day in order
to allow teachers to assess the child’s ability to cope with the academic
requirements of the school. After assessment a place may, or may not be
offered.

Upon the offer of a place, the parents are required to complete an acceptance
form and pay a refundable deposit.
