Pastoral Care
Pownall Hall School is not just concerned with academic results. Education is the preparation of an individual for life and includes courtesy and personal development in a well-disciplined and happy environment. The teaching staff oversee the social development of the children and encourage tolerance and sensitivity towards one another.
The Headmaster and his staff meet regularly to discuss the development of each child and are always available to meet with parents, both informally and at the regular Consultation Evenings.
In the Early Years and the Pre-Prep, the Headmaster, the Head of Pre-Prep and the form Teachers are responsible for the pastoral care of the children. All children from Form 2 upwards belong to one of four Houses: Clarke, Fytton, Newton and Pownall. The House staff provide an additional level of pastoral care. It is through the House system that much competition and team spirit are encouraged.
The atmosphere at Pownall Hall is well known for being friendly, cheerful and industrious. We work hard to ensure that this continues.
