The day for Form Three starts at 8:30am. Between 8:30 and Assembly we work on Early Morning English and Early Morning Maths- practising already learned skills.
Each child has a peg in the cloakroom for their outdoor clothes and pegs in the Sports Hall for Sports Kit. Within the classroom everyone has a desk for their books and personal effects.
Some lessons e.g. Maths, English, History, Geography and R.E. are taught in the Form Room. Others, such as Art, Music, Drama, Science, P.E., Games, and I.T. are taught by specialist teachers in other rooms and areas. Children get used, therefore to moving to other classrooms with their books and equipment.
The core subjects are mostly taught in the morning within the classroom setting, the class teacher being supported by a classroom assistant during the day.
Each period of the day is 35 minutes long and there are 8 periods in Form 3’s day. During the day each child reads to a member of staff and are encouraged with an emphasis on fluency and understanding.
The day ends at 3.45pm with the option for all children to participate in a variety of clubs and activities after school both sporting or otherwise.
