Form Two
Pupils in Year 2 are taught by two class teachers supported by a classroom assistant. Additional support is available for pupils should it be deemed necessary.
The core subjects are taught by the class teachers ensuring thorough teaching and continuity, whilst the specialist staff (Music, Drama, French and P.E.) teach with a high level of experience in their specialist subjects. Fluency in reading and writing, confidence in Mathematics and ICT, an investigative approach to science and a love of music and the performing arts are some of the attributes we aim to instil in our Year 2 pupils.
Our day starts at 8.30am and ends at 3.45pm. The children attend Senior School Assembly three times a week. They take part in the Senior School House System and are given the opportunity to bond with older children in the school by attending house meetings once a week. Core subjects are generally taught in the morning and the more creative elements of the curriculum in the afternoon.
Year 2 join Pre-Prep (Form 1 and below) for break and lunch, and have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of clubs with children of different ages.
Pupils receive homework every evening in the form of English, Maths and Reading. We welcome communication with parents through a reading record booklet and are happy to arrange formal meetings as required. Formal parents evenings take place twice a year and reports are issued at the end of the first and third terms.
