Nursery

The Nursery provides pre-school care and education for boys and girls from the age of two years. Located in modern premises adjacent to Pownall Hall’s tranquil estate, we create a happy and secure environment sensitive to your child’s every need. Fully qualified and experienced staff provide high quality nursery education to small groups extending and enriching each child’s experience and providing a platform for later learning.

Our programme of activities are sensitively planned to enhance your child’s social, intellectual and physical development. Children come eagerly each day and depart with a sense of achievement and pleasure.

We understand how critical your child’s first experience of school is and therefore work in partnership with parents to ensure the transition from home to school is made easily. The Nursery provides an excellent introduction to the Kindergarten class where your child’s education will continue on a more formal basis.

Each morning children and parents are welcomed into the bright, friendly environment of the Nursery. Your child has their own key worker, with whom they develop a strong relationship, making the transition from home to Nursery a happy experience.

The Nursery has a wonderful and secure outdoor play area. This has been thoughtfully planned by both staff and children, ensuring the learning experience continues outside. Children are encouraged to use the garden area throughout the day and are not limited to set times.

Children can attend the Nursery from the age of 2 years and they do not need to be toilet trained. Nappy changing facilities are available and staff are happy to help and support parents throughout the’ potty training’ process.

A healthy snack is provided morning and afternoon, and water is always available. Lunch is eaten in the Nursery, having been freshly cooked in our school kitchen.
